My Story
The creator behind Recorded Lives is award-winning, international filmmaker and photographer Luci Westphal.
As a documentary filmmaker, I aim to help people and organizations tell their stories and express their ideas and passions – for an informed, connected, and better tomorrow.
To me, the life stories of so-called “ordinary people” are just as remarkable and compelling as high-stakes celebrity stories. Because I want to help preserve and share these stories and help people understand each other better and connect deeper, I launched Recorded Lives – a personal memoir videos service.
Originally from Germany, I currently live in the Historic Kenwood neighborhood of St. Petersburg, Florida – and have a studio in the ArtsXchange in the Warehouse Arts District.
I hold a degree from the Film School at FSU and have decades of experience interviewing, filming, and editing. My work has been broadcast, screened and exhibited internationally.
Recorded Lives is supported by a network of other film, story-telling and research professionals to assist on larger projects.

What we create together will help you and yours connect deeper and across time.
Recorded Lives books interviews in the entire Tampa Bay Area and Sarasota and Lakeland without additional travel costs. Filming in other areas of Florida or the country are possible with additional travel costs.
